In The Details focuses on each artist's meticulous mark-making vocabulary and process. Inch by inch through skill and craftsmanship, the significance of detail emerges from the repetition and interfacing of small basic elements, creating compositions that are both tranquil and mesmerizing. The labor-intensive artwork of the 17 artists in this exhibition invites the viewer in to inner worlds that maintaining a balance between the tangible and a seemingly infinite space. While all the artwork shares a level of complexity, each artist's mark-making language has its own distinctive voice. Together they generate a lively dialogue about the formal qualities of abstraction and the contemporary issues in non-referential art.
