OVERLAP as a theme will emphasize the physicality of non-objective painting as it references both the optical and tactile phenomenon of the painting process, and how the interconnected qualities of these abstract notions play out autonomously in each of the individual artist’s exploration and approach to painting.  The conceptualization of OVERLAP, in relation to method as rational thought and image as concept, is not only, the connecting point at which perception materializes as working methodologies, but more importantly, how the formal exploration of concrete surface and structural pattern parallels in each of the artist's paintings. The diverse outcomes, viewpoints, and intuitive explorations, of each artist, are evocative perceptions of the world in which we live.
